FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer both hourly sessions and discounted package options for students looking for ongoing support. Package plans reduce the effective hourly rate and are ideal for students seeking comprehensive assistance with college applications, essays, scholarships, extracurricular strategy, interview preparation, SAT/ACT test preparation, and academic tutoring. Whether you're looking for a few targeted sessions or long-term mentorship, I offer flexible options tailored to each student's goals and needs. I also provide referral discounts for families who refer new students to Browns Boost. My goal is to make high-quality, personalized guidance accessible while ensuring every student receives individualized attention and a clear plan for success. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process begins with a complimentary consultation where I learn about the student's goals, academic background, strengths, challenges, and areas where they would like support. This allows me to create a personalized plan tailored to their specific needs. For college counseling students, we typically begin by assessing academic records, extracurricular involvement, and long-term goals before developing a strategy for college applications, essays, scholarships, and admissions planning. For SAT/ACT and academic tutoring students, I start with a diagnostic assessment to identify strengths and areas for improvement, then create a customized study plan. Throughout our work together, I provide ongoing guidance, progress tracking, and individualized support. Sessions are highly interactive and designed to build both skills and confidence. My goal is not only to help students achieve strong results, but also to teach them strategies and habits that will benefit them long after our sessions end.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I bring a combination of academic achievement, competitive success, and extensive mentoring experience to every student I work with. I am currently pursuing a degree in Data Science and Economics with a minor in Chinese at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I was awarded a 50% out-of-state academic scholarship. I earned a 1520 on the SAT, including a perfect score in the Reading and Writing section, and have firsthand experience navigating highly competitive admissions and scholarship processes. During my admissions cycle, I was accepted to institutions including Cornell University, New York University Stern School of Business, Tufts University, Colgate University, and the University of Florida, while also earning waitlists from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Georgetown University, and Columbia University. In debate coaching, I have competed and succeeded at the national level. My accomplishments include placing in the Top 10 in Florida, finishing in the Top 18 out of more than 200 competitors at Yale, reaching elimination rounds at Harvard, winning a Tournament of Champions Digital Series Championship, and earning multiple finalist appearances at major national invitationals. Through debate, I have coached students in public speaking, argumentation, research, critical thinking, and persuasive writing—skills that translate directly to stronger essays, interviews, scholarship applications, and academic performance. In addition to college counseling and debate coaching, I provide SAT/ACT preparation, essay coaching, scholarship assistance, academic tutoring, and admissions planning. My approach combines proven strategies, individualized mentorship, and firsthand experience to help students build confidence, achieve measurable results, and maximize their opportunities.
