Introduction: Taking my class in Accent Reduction means that each class is created just for you and what you want. Besides pronunciation, we can cover Business English, vocabulary, conversation, etc. Or I can teach you American culture, humor, customs, idioms, or slang…the choice is all yours! I'm a patient, fun and relaxed ESL tutor - because I had to learn a foreign language myself, and I understand the frustration learning English can be!

The teacher work with me to improve my accent. I didn’t like my speaking voice. Jessica taught me to speak so I don’t have nasal accent anymore. It was much work and practice but I am happy with my accent now. My friend say I sound more educated. Marc

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I give a discounted rate for more than 2 classes per week!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first class, which is free, is an Assessment of the student’s English. After speaking together, reading out loud (and possibly taking an English level test) I will determine how many classes it will take to improve their accent. I also let the student know what areas we will be working on. It may be pronouncing the TH, R or A sounds or learning how to link English like native speakers do.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a bachelor’s degree from Boston University where I graduated cum laude (with honors) and a 120-hour TESOL Certificate in English as a Second Language. I am also certified by the National Tutoring Association and an SAT/ACT certified tutor.
