Ask about their coaching education, their background, what sets them apart from other coaches, etc. Get a feel for how you and your potential coach interact. Does the conversation flow easily, or does it feel strained? Listen to your "gut" or "intuition" about the coach you're talking with. If it feels "right", then hire him or her.
