- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It took a lot of consideration of what my existing skills were compared to where I wanted to go in life. At the time, I had over 5 years in food service experience, and several years Volunteering for sporting events. I decided to continue my interest with these 2 fields and went to Johnson and Wales University to study Event Coordination, Hospitality, and Sales and Marketing. Since my favorite part of the program was the coordination of private events, concerts, and parties, it was a clear choice that I wanted to continue bringing my organizational knowledge of events home to Clearwater, FL.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the person you hire is willing to get involved. Sometimes events require quick thinking and decision making, and it is important that the coordinator is able to provide immediate attention to important issues. In the event planning and live entertainment industry, it is important to be alert, efficient, and creative throughout the entire process.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I am dedicated to this profession. I originally wanted to work for an event company, and over time found they were all the same. They were cookie cutter businesses with no creativity or passion for their work. I did not follow the same vision as these companies, I wanted to take a more creative and exciting approach to the event coordination industry, which is when I decided to start CmC Entertainment in 2014. CmC adds a new flair to event planning bringing any event to life using new and creative designs, entertainment, and decorative concepts.
