We hired them to do crown molding in our house. We have different height ceilings which makes the difficulty level high, so we wanted to hire a vetted team and most of all -licensed keep in mind, we weren't looking for the cheapest deal but knowledgeable, responsive and professional at a reasonable price and this company is it! They gave us good tips to improve the look and feel of the new additions. They completely the job within the time frame promised and even came back to touch up to "finish and detail". They don't smoke, they don't take long breaks, they are clean, what else do you want ?

I believe they started off with good intentions and the ability to do small projects. Where things went horribly wrong was when we hired and trusted them to do a larger ongoing project. They made mistakes in billing and ordering that maybe were not intentional, but instead of handling the problems professionally gave numerous excuses why the work was not completed properly (warping of wood trim, moisture in materials/paint primer not adequate), why components were not ordered (missing doors for months then one door not even ordered). We tried our best to give them every opportunity, but they would go weeks without responding leaving us to wonder if our job would ever get done. They were initially doing 50% at ordering and 50% at completion. Then they demanded immediate payment to finish the job. They of course didn’t finish and have disappeared again for weeks. We had to hire another company to finish what they couldn’t/ wouldn’t. I guess they picked up another project. This was a recurring theme/ picking up new projects and putting ours on the backburner resulting in many months delays over and over again. So I’m sure they’ll be ok for small jobs but definitely not anything big. I am appalled a company would treat people this way. Their subcontractors have mailed us numerous times that they were never paid for their work. We believed Montes for many months when they blamed others for delays and billing misunderstandings, but unfortunately we learned our lesson the hard way. We should not have trusted this company.
