FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is transparent and based on the size and scope of each project. For tile installation, we typically charge by the square foot, with adjustments depending on the type of tile (mosaic, large-format, natural stone, etc.) and any prep work needed (such as leveling or waterproofing). I provide detailed, itemized proposals so you know exactly what’s included—no hidden fees. Discounts may be available for larger projects or repeat clients. Smaller service calls (repairs, touch-ups, or small areas) are usually priced with a minimum project fee to cover setup and travel. My goal is to give you clear, fair pricing upfront so there are no surprises once the work begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new customer reaches out, I start with a short conversation to understand their vision, budget, and timeline. From there: Initial Consultation – We discuss the project details, tile type, layout, and any special requests. If needed, I’ll visit the site to take measurements and evaluate prep work. Detailed Proposal – I provide an itemized estimate with clear pricing, outlining what’s included (materials, labor, prep, waterproofing, etc.). Design & Planning – For larger projects, I can create 3D renderings or layout drawings so you can see the finished look before installation begins. Scheduling & Prep – Once approved, we set a start date and I make sure the site is properly prepped for a smooth install. Installation – I handle all installation with attention to detail, cleanliness, and respect for your home. Final Walkthrough – At the end, I walk you through the finished project, answer questions, and ensure everything meets expectations. My focus is on communication and quality—making sure you feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began my career in the tile trade through the BAC Local 1 apprenticeship program in Minnesota, where I received formal training in installation, safety, and trade standards. Over the years, I advanced to foreman and later worked as an estimator and project manager for one of Minnesota’s largest commercial tile contractors. I’ve also completed training and certifications with leading waterproofing and installation systems, including Schluter, WEDI, Laticrete, Mapei, and Custom RedGard. In addition, I am certified in gauged porcelain tile panels (large format panels), which require specialized handling and installation techniques. With nearly 15 years of hands-on experience across residential and commercial projects, my background combines technical training, field leadership, and project management expertise.
