FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to chat via phone or Zoom first. This allows the client and I to get to know each other, a little bit. Designing an event for someone else a very personal experience. The client needs to be comfortable with who I am as a designer and I need to make sure I fully understand the desires of my client. It is my job to make the clients dreams a reality.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The business, marketing, design, and organization skills I developed during my time here are transferred to my approach with each client. I view each client/event as a new project with different goals and objectives. My job is to help the client discover what they want and exceed their expectations. My Visual Arts Degree further enhances my skill set and provides me with the tools and abilities to problem solve, be budget conscious, and allows me to "think outside of the box"
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been planning events since I was in my teens. I can remember my first "large" event, a banquet when I was 17 years old for about 60 guests. I hand painted a backdrop for the photo area and had my dad help me make a wood bridge for us to stand on. I topped it off with flowers, lights, and fabric. (Not bad for 17 years old) Since then, I have planned weddings, baby showers, birthdays, conferences, banquets, galas, and more. Two of my most unique events were; a float for a parade and more recently, a half marathon. Both events were uncharted territory for me at the time. However, I embraced that challenge and dove right in.
