He also refused to provide a certificate of liability, naming our HOA, which is required by our HOA. Said it would cost him $160 and he’d have to pass that cost off to me. I’ve had 3 arb requests submitted to our HOA and all the vendors involved easily and promptly provided the certificate without hesitation and at no cost. Danny insisted he’s worked with lots of ARBs and our ARB shouldn’t require that. He instead sent a blurry copy of his liability policy that was obscured by shadows and didn’t capture the whole document. He offered to send another but it would take him 2 or three days. .The business license he sent was a copy of his listing on Sun Biz which was incomplete. He refused to give me the name and phone number of his insurance company when I asked for it, so my HOA could call them directly and try to straighten out the issue with a certificate of insurance. He kept insisting they shouldn’t need it and even said he talked to his lawyer about it. He seemed to be more interested in being correct than assisting his customer. We have been trying to get the proper documentation for 2 weeks now. In the end he said he was not interested in the job because meeting the requirements of our HOA were taking too much of his time, given how small our project is. $3000 worth of work may be small to him, but that’s a huge investment for a retired couple. Where was hid “office staff” who i couldn’t never reach, and why was he trying to do all the paperwork on his own in between jobs. In the end, he wasted his time and mine. It was a very frustrating process for both of us and it didn’t need to be. I will give him credit for saying he would be happy to talk to our HOA, but that would not have accomplished any more than I was able to do myself. They would not have accepted his claim that they didn’t need what was being requested. And why did he refuse to give me the number of the insurance company so my HOA could call them and try to work this out. Instead he wanted to control everything, my access to his office and to his insurance company as well as negotiations either my HOA.
