Horseback riding goals
Student experience level
Introduction: I have been training in a classical balanced seat method for over 10 years. With various experiences in horses for over 20 years, I started with a BS in Equine Management from Midway College in Kentucky. Since then, I have continued to further my classical education by studying with such notable trainers as Cathy Wieschhoff , Jeurgen Helmut, Jessica Stark, Kim Barteau and Enrique Martinez. Currently I am studying with Marijke de Jong. For a number of years I taught Equine Studies at Kishwaukee Community College and was involved in development of the "Festival Of the Horse & Drum" held annually at the Kane County Fairgrounds. I aim for each of my students to find a calm balance in their riding, working towards better communication between them and their horse. From seeing the spark of joy in finding new muscles or cues, to developing new confidence, I love to bring my love of riding to others. It's not about what tack you ride in, nor what ribbons you win, but instead about developing core balance and a love of Equus.
