FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I edit on three levels. The first and primary level is proofreading, which consists of correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other mechanical errors. The next level is line editing. It's more time intensive and involves taking each line and polishing it, improving the overall style and quality of the author's work. The last level is developmental editing, which involves actually develops a story or article. I can do them individually or as a package.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of my continuing education consists of constant research to stay abreast on the correct writing and editing rules to ensure the project is as professional as it can get.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved to write, and editing just came naturally because many times, the two go hand in hand. As a little girl, I'd write in my diary, which I guess is called "journaling" today. Then I wrote for the school paper, and then more journaling. Someone had read some of my published articles and offered me a job editing for his media company. The rest is history. I am constantly studying editing rules to stay current. I am very passionate about what I do.
