Thumbtack is proud to release the results from a new monthly survey of America’s small businesses. This survey provides unique insights from more than 10,000 hard-to-reach small business owners; over 90 percent have five employees or fewer, and a majority are sole proprietors. Via its network of more than 150,000 active service professionals, Thumbtack has the unique capability to regularly survey this otherwise very difficult to reach population.
“We are excited to be able to reveal this new survey, which will capture the sentiment of thousands of small businesses nationwide on a monthly basis,” said Jon Lieber, Chief Economist of Thumbtack. “Many of these business owners have few or no employees, and are often overlooked in other widely tracked business surveys. We hope by drawing attention to them we can offer new insights into what’s happening in a part of the American economy that is difficult to study.”
