Jorje showed up on time and completed the LVP installation itself satisfactorily. Unfortunately, the billing experience was frustrating.
He charged me more than the agreed-upon price twice. First, he added a charge for carpet removal even though carpet removal was clearly included in the job description submitted through Thumbtack when he accepted the job. Second, he insisted the project was 200 square feet when the actual area was only 185 square feet. I know it could not have been 200 square feet because I purchased 200 square feet of flooring, and that total already included waste allowance.
The installation work was acceptable, but I was disappointed by what felt like repeated attempts to increase the price after the fact. In the end, I paid the additional charges simply to resolve the situation and have him leave my home, even though I could’ve pulled out the tape measure for him. Because of this experience, I will not be hiring him for the much larger LVP installation planned for my entire upstairs. It’s unfortunate Jorge was dishonest.

Jorge’s sent his dad over to look at my shower. Apparently we are neighbors. His dad said he wouldn’t regrout this shower and that it needs full retiling. I was stunned. I have no loose tiles. Or mold issues outside normal shower stuff. My walls are solid. I spoke to Jorge who proceeded to explain that I needed all new tiles even around my bath tub with is completely still like new because it shares a wall. He said I needed new glass and that I could find my own tiles if I wanted and save $300 or have him get the tiles. He said I could regrout for $700 but this problem of mold will
Come back in a year. I don’t have a mold problem I just have mildew and some cracked old grout.
I lost 3 nights of sleep having anxiety over how as a disabled veteran on fixed income I’d pay such a fee only to get the same shower not even a jet tub just new tile. He made sound like I was going to regret just adding new grout. I have 3 showers and this 10k was for only the master.

I found 2 other another highly reputable contractors and got all three showers inspected, no problems whatsoever were found and only grout is needed like I thought.

As I type this one of those companies is replacing all my grout for less that he quoted me to regrout the shower in the pic. My home is 10 years old. Has been very well taken care of. This shower has been regrouted twice. It was over due yes but not as bad as he thought. I feel he was scamming me and his dad misled him.

Jorge did a great job at replacing 2 cracked floor tiles. He was on time, worked quickly and cleaned up after he was finished. The job was done so well you can’t even tell where the work was done. I will be using Jorge in the future for other household projects.
