Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My service stands out because of my results. My clients have achieved score improvements in a fraction of the time usually required to achieve comparable gains. Over the past ten years, my students and clients have earned over $17M in scholarships and admissions to their top-choice colleges. I have helped many students who had tried franchise programs or other tutors but never learned actual strategies, often just spending time doing proctored practice (that reinforces bad habits) then going over the answer key, which didn't improve their performance or confidence. My clients often tell me they learned more in working with me for 2 hours than they did in 2 months of classes. I deconstruct the test and show specific strategies, skills and steps for problem-solving and then use a brain research-based error analysis process to focus on individual questions, concerns and issues. Another difference that makes my business stand out is that I work directly with my clients and do not subcontract other tutors. My clients benefit from my epertise in test prep and 20+ years of exeprience as a teacher of students with a wide range of weaknesses, strengths, abilities, goals and issues. Additionally I am equally balanced in math/science and reading/writing, and my methods are original, effective and consistent. I address all sections of the test as well as all aspects of testing. I stay on top of my game by taking the SAT, ACT, GRE and GMAT regularly and have earned multiple perfect or top 0.01% scores. But I get much more excited by the accomplishments of my students: some have jumped as much as 12 points on ACT subsections and 320 points on the SAT. I go beyond content and format to teach tried-and-true tips, tools, tactics and techniques. I show my students how to approach standardized tests differently than traditional tests. In essence, I teach them to think like the test-makers so that they can exploit patterns in construction and weaknesses of multiple-choice formats, like hacking a game using cheats or backdoors in the program. I also really enjoy writing outstanding resumes that land interviews and turn into jobs. Whether building a resume from scratch for an entry-level applicant or updating and editing the CV of an experienced eecutive or a midlife career-changer, I take a very personalized approach rather than relying on software programs, overused templates or cliches. I help craft cover letters that get noticed and prepare for interviews that seal the deal. I take the time to teach my clients all of the up-to-date information about finding and applying for jobs and establishing a career that should have been taught in high school or college. Applicant-tracking software systems, HR data-mining, online job boards and social media have changed the game drastically in the last decade and will continue to do so. I love making a positive difference! I feel honored to be a part of my clients' lives at such important times when their actions and decisions affect the trajectory of their future. Most of my clients have earned scholarships and admissions to their top choice schools or have landed jobs within weeks after many months of futile efforts. All of my clients have had more choices and opportunities than they had before working with me. My favorite thing to hear is, "Thanks Ms. Werb, I couldn't have done it without you!"

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Hourly tutoring rates vary from $25-$150/hr depending on the subject and number of students (one-on-on or small group). My base fee for resume writing is $100, but can vary depending on level of editing needed (more for building a resume from scratch and less for just updating or proofreading an existing resume). I charge a travel fee of 25% for distances greater than 30 miles. Credit card payments include a 4% surcharge.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I recommend prospective clients fill out the Questionnaire on my website (FREE CONSULTATION button on upper-right corner of landing page) and then set up a complimentary consultation to discuss goals, past performance and issues.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I regularly take the tests under actual testing conditions. I keep up with ail the latest changes on testing, standards, and admissions policies, as well as staying current on many topics in education through constant online research, memberships in professional associations and subscriptions to journals, websites and blogs.
