Attorney David Thorpe David Thorpe is originally from the Detroit, Michigan area, but since 1988, he has been a resident of Tampa, Florida. Education Mr. Thorpe received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration with a minor degree in computer electronics from the Siena Heights University in 1988. From there, Mr. Thorpe attended Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida and graduated in 1996. During law school, Mr. Thorpe concentrated his course work in litigation and evidence. Central West Coast Florida Practice Mr. Thorpe has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area since 1997. Upon being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997, Mr. Thorpe served as a federal law clerk to the judges in the Middle District of Florida. Afterwards, he worked as assistance legal counsel for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. He is a member of the Florida Bar and is licensed and authorized to practice in all state courts in Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Supreme Court. He is an active member in good standing with the Florida Bar, Hillsborough County Bar Association, Clearwater Bar Association, Carrollwood Bar Association, and Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association. Mr. Thorpe has handled cases in most of the counties in the State of Florida. Mr. Thorpe tried his first mortgage foreclosure case in 2000, representing a homeowner in St. Petersburg, Florida. Shortly afterwards, he became the lead trial/appellate attorney for one of the largest mortgage foreclosure firms in Florida, representing banks in mortgage foreclosure cases. In that capacity, Mr. Thorpe conducted approximately 50 mortgage foreclosure trials and handled numerous appeals. On April 11, 2005, Mr. Thorpe established The Thorpe Law Firm, P.A. Mr. Thorpe has handled thousands of mortgage foreclosure cases and now uses his vast experience to assist homeowners save their homes.
