Joey is a great guy and a great teacher. I wish I got to spend more time practicing so I could have advanced more, but what he’s taught me with calligraphy is more than I could have learned from watching YouTube. Even doing Skype classes he could see if I was off with my technique and helped me correct it. I also really appreciated that he didn’t mind the occasional crying baby or needy kid in the background.

I wanted to get drawing lessons for my nephews birthday as he loves to draw but has never taken any classes for it. I found Joseph through Thumbstack and asked if he could work with my brother and his son to setup a first drawing lesson. Joseph was extremely responsive and got everything setup. Since then my nephew has taken several lessons and says he loves every single one and always learns something new! I’m glad he has been enjoying the lessons and just as much his drawing skills have gotten considerably better! Mr. Fisher worked with several of my students and produced some very exciting animation and works of art with them. He was so very patient and professional in his interaction with them. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I really recommend that a drawing session is 1 ½ to 2 hours because that gives us time to start the class by critiquing "homework" assignments, do some warm-ups, and have plenty of time for the lesson! 2 hours is best and time flies when you're making art anyway! However, 1 hour is fine too!
Discounts available for purchasing packages of 5, 10, or more!
Discounts available for classes that are 1 ½, 2, or 3 hours in duration!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free 20-minute orientation to get acquainted with each other and to assess the student's abilities and what they want to get out of the lessons. We can do everything from drawing cartoons, landscapes with perspective, to realistic portraits, and animation!
When you tell me that you'd like to get started and I'll send a questionnaire to complete before the orientation.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages, and children as young as 6. I have worked with students with special needs and on the autism spectrum. I really love the joy it brings people when they see their own finished creations, especially children! It's very encouraging for them.
