FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each project is priced specifically to the client. To many moving parts to provide details here. Past the design and development of a website, a flat hourly rate is charged for other changes and maintenance.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do as much as I can to stay up with technology - it's challenging because it moves faster than any professor could stay current with. There are a few online classes specializing in web development, those are the most helpful. Luckily, I'm blessed with my math professor mother's sense of rational thought, so in addition to design, I can read code.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm an evolution. With a sales background in magazine publishing, a detour to the telecommunications industry at MCI, when they launched a product called internetMCI back in 1996 my first thought was - WOW, this is the new media. I went to work for Tribune selling websites for their AOL content provider. The only problem was, there weren't any "website designers". So I taught myself how to build webpages instead of waiting for the editorial designers to help. It's the one career that allows me to use all my talents...design, write, create, sell, help others.
