Having over 20 years of experience has allowed me to come up with a system of teaching that works! I have a passion for creating a fun and challenging lesson environment that is tailor made with each student in mind. I attended Michigan State University as a Classical Piano Performance Major. While at MSU, I also performed with jazz bands, studied piano pedagogy, and completed K-12 music education classes. During this time I gained valuable information for the piano teaching methods that I use today. After getting married in 2000, I transferred to Wayne state University in Detroit, MI, where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. I initially taught out of my home, and later opened my own private studio. I am currently the Fine Arts Director at a private school in Jacksonville. I teach Music Appreciation classes, Music Theory, Piano, Chorus, Musical Theatre, Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, and High School music classes. I also teach group and private voice and piano lessons. I teach students in any location, as my lessons are online. My students usually progress fast, within a short amount of time. The lessons incorporate achieving musicality, technique, and learning music theory, all while working to focus on your personal goals. I teach students from 3 on up, and any style of music. Students have the opportunity to participate in monthly online recitals, and they love being able to meet other students to play for them. I welcome all students, from wanting to learn to read music, to those who want to be able to play or sing the songs they hear on the radio. I recognize the potential in each one of my students, and I have a passion for sharing the gift of music with others. Since starting as a music educator in 2000, my results are a testament to the fact that my system works!
