About
Invictus Academe provides supplemental instructional services, primarily in the mathematics and physical science subject areas, for middle school, junior high, and high school level students. All tutoring services are provided via a virtual classroom program over the internet. Located just outside of Atlanta, GA in Athens and the University of Georgia, we provide instructional services nationwide. The best way to make contact with Invictus Academe is via the Thumbtack e-mail system or by the phone number listed by Thumbtack for Invictus Academe. President George Lindsey will be your point of contact. At present, we offer tutorial services for the following subjects: * Mathematics: - Elementary and Middle Math primarily for k5 through 6th Grade - General Math and Pre-Algebra, primarily for 7th through 9th Grade - Algebra I - Geometry - Algebra II - Trigonometry * Physical Sciences: - General Earth Science, typically for Middle School - Physical Science, typically for High-School Freshmen - High School Physics Prices for tutoring sessions vary based on frequency per week, class level, and special discounts negotiated before beginning of sessions. Prices range from $20.00 to $45.00, depending on the number of lessons scheduled per week, the class level, and special requests not already covered. Sessions are 1.25 hours long (75 minutes), but typically less for younger students due to attention span limitations. Sessions begin with a free 1-hour orientation session for the student to work out any computer-related issues and to orient the student to the software we use. Additionally, 2 tutoring sessions are provided free of charge or obligation by Invictus Academe as a gesture of our appreciation for considering us, as well as to gauge how well we work together. With client or parental consent, we typically target the day-to-day homework to prevent losing any additional ground. Following this, we work to insure the students are optimally prepared for scheduled exams as well as unscheduled pop test. From here, we search for the areas where important material has been missed, misunderstood, not presented well by a prior teacher, or simply or forgotten. Intense effort is put forth to realize immediate improvement of GPA, and from there, the GPA only improves as we manage to keep the student engaged as well; at all times, their self esteem and confidence is to be nurtured. Please see the attached file for additional information on Invictus Academe, how we work, and how we do what we do so well. Thank you for your consideration, and we hope we can be you tutors of choice! George Lindsey President

George Lindsey gave our seventh grade daughter a "marathon" math tutoring session to help her review for the FCAT, a Florida state exam that covers all of seventh grade math. He was outstanding and was able to review a tremendous amount of material in a way that made sense to her and gave her confidence in her abilities. He is very patient and makes math "fun" for students who stuggle in math. We are continuing tutoring sessions with him on a regular basis and my daughter is very happy. We highly recommend George Lindsey!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

We work with all kinds and ages of students and at times professional adults working to advance their careers. Our business is designed for the type of students with the will to succeed and in need of some extra help to get them their. We help people up the ladder of success - we do not push them.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I think that there must be Chemistry between the student and teacher or little will be accomplished. For this reason we offer 2 free tutoring lessons to help sort such out so no one's time is wasted. The provider must be a motivator, helping the student find their way. The provider cannot be a drill sargent expecting to force fit information into someone's head and call it teaching. The student will simply shut down.
