Introduction: I strive to give my customers my honest opinion of how the job needs to be done at the lowest cost possible. I might not be their lowest bid, but I promise you its a honest bid. I believe in being fair with every customer and also make sure they know in detail how I will complete the job. I show up with my packet in hand that includes my insurance info and business liscense, as well as their full written proposal. I never get paid until job is completed to their satisfaction. I go over different options of ways they can save money. I own all my equipment so I have no reason to up charge for rental fees etc, like most company's. I enjoy meeting new people everyday and building lasting relationships with my customers. Every tree job is different and has unique circumstances to each performance. I love the challenges I face with each job, and the smiles my customers give when I am done. It is so rewarding when a customer tells you and your crew how they where impressed with our performance and professionalism. Makes me understand why God has me doing this for so many years.

Brian's workers were great. However Brian, I found to be less than forthright. First, he gave me a bid in December 2015, I called in April to let him know I was ready to start the job. I told him we were on a fixed income and would have to budget the money, which is why it took from December to April to fit it in our budget. He wanted to charge me more. I told him I had budgeted the bid amount only. Then he started saying will you keep the mulch we will put the limbs on the ground and saw them in 18" fireplace size logs and he would do it for the original bid. He kept pushing and trying to negotiate till I agreed to keep the brush and he would drop the limbs an cut them up. He dropped the limbs but did not cut the into fireplace lengths. He sent his crew at 4 pm to do a 4 hour job. Needless to say they were not happy, and I can't say that I blame them. Then there was a disagreement about what they were to take down. Brian came out an pushed till I agreed to have a piece of a limb taken down that I distinctly remember being one that would come completely down. I have since had to pay another tree service to take it down. Mandella's left a broken limb that is directly over our roof, which when it falls it will damage our roof. I called him promptly to inform him of the problem, once again he pushed and said well if it is something we did he would take it down. Hello...it was freshly broken and splintered and I called the morning after the job was done. He didn't take my call so I left 2 voice mail messages explaining the problem. He finally returned my call pushing about if it was something his workers had done he would take care of it. It has been a week and the limb is still hanging precariously over our roof waiting to dry out enough to fall. I do not recommend Mandella's Brian, as I said initially is not forthright in my opinion.

Thanks for your review, I will start by saying I deeply apologize for whatever reasoning that you have the opinion of me as to not being forthright. I think the problem might have been with you is because I am very up front about things. I have been doing this business 25 years and pretty sure that's a first. But as you mentioned that is your opinion and your so in titled to have one. I gave you a bid back in December when I was working on your neighbors job and during slow season. So this is not even a thumbtack customer, but regardless the bid was given and then you called in April during the busy season to get on schedule. Which I went out of my way to fit you in when I was 2 weeks out. I went back out to examine the job since it was after 60 days (which is when estimates are good for due to seseaonal changes in foliage.) My orginal bid was $550 very low bid to do all you wanted done back in December but because it was slow was willing to give you a deal. But when I returned in April of course there was alot more to do, reasoning I was giving you options to save on like keeping mulch firewood pieces etc.. I did send the guys out at 4pm after other jobs was completed that was previously on schedule other wise you would have waited two weeks. If the guys was complaining it wasn't because of the long hours its because of the extra I had them do to make you happy. We do what is necessary to get our customers done and my men was paid double the pay for working late to complete your job. I should have known when you immediately threatened me of a bad review if I didn't remove certain limbs that was not in the orginal bid, that I should have let it be. But I dont do business that way, and I realize some people are just unhappy people and nothing you do to go over and beyond to help will make them happy. All I can do is pray for those and just do my job. In the end we completed your valued job of $850 roping every limb out over fence, pool, house etc for only $450 which was 100 less than the orginal bid in Dec. Yes we cut the one large limb into firewood pieces , as you specifically told my guys that if they did the one limb that was good enough that you would take care of the smaller limbs yourself as long as we got the other one's on the ground. Which they did and left after dark. As far as the limb over your house that was broken which we didnt see in the dark I did return your call at my earliest convenience due to me being 2 weeks out and fitting you in. And I did return and remove the limb. As well as took pictures and videos of the completed job. I am not sure what other tree person you hired but it was not from anything we didnt do nor what you paid for. But as I mentioned you are in titled to your opinion and I know I can sleep good at night that I was more than fair to you to accommodate your most demanding needs. I am sure you deal with this quite a bit in your life and hopefully one day you can find enter peace, because life is so short to have so much bitterness especially when someone goes out of their way to help you. Thanks to Mandella's Tree Service (Michael Mandella & his crew) for doing such a bang up job cutting down nine trees in my backyard! Your crew worked diligently cutting down tree after tree with such precision. Hopefully, I may be able to grow some grass in my backyard soon😀. You guys rock!

Brian and his crew did an AMAZING job. They took out a large hardwood and 7 pine trees from our yard, as well as trimming an eighth. He was able to do the entire job in one day. The team was meticulous about not getting any sawdust, limbs, or causing any other damage to our garden, which was exceptionally important to us. He also managed to avoid causing damage to our privacy fence or the secondary chainlink fence surrounding the garden. I've already handed his card out to several friends, and will not hesitate to use his services in the future. Manuela's tree service went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met in a timely, professional manner!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every task is different. Their is no set price for a tree removal or trimming. Every tree is different as well as every limb as well as the location where its at. Many factors come up with a good bid: How big of tree, quantity of job, near house structures etc, does it have to be climbed, or roped out, acess of the job with equipment if needed, disposal of the job. All of these or factors in my pricing and I make sure I go everything to give the customer the best price I can.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first time meeting a customer is usually via phone or emails. So I strive to make an appointment with them as soon as possible to meet them as well as view the work to be performed first hand. Making a qoute via text or picture is not something I practice since the tree could be totally bigger or vice versa in person. Upon arrival at customers house I introduce my self and give the customer a professional business packet of mine. I go with the customer and look at the job and then put in writing exactly what we discussed to get done, as well as any options of ways to keep cost down. I leave packet and proposal with customer and I take a copy of proposal. If they decide to hire me that day I go ahead and get them on the schedule, if they are getting other qoutes I tell them to call me back after their last qoute and I will match it. I make changes on my proposal if necessary, then go do the job. After job is completed me and customer signs off on the proposal and I get final copy for my records and they keep packet with all worked performed for their records as well as future business.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the tree industry for over 25 years. Starting out in my younger years with companies like Ashpulnd, Daveys Tree, being trained by the book. Learning the arborist side of the tree industry. I was forman for many years running my own crew and I won many safety awards , as well as falling competitions. I then had the request of my climbing abilities from many other companies, so contracted myself out foe many years. Then when I hit my 40s decided it was time for me to share my knowledge and start training climbers and by God's grace ultimately ended up with Mandellas Tree Service!
