- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every single day, every song, and every job is an education. I keep my eyes and ears wide open around those more experienced and always look for opportunities to learn more. Even about aspects of playing and business that I think I already know well. More specifically, 14 years of regional & national touring experience as a working musician; on stage, back stage, and studio musician and engineer; 20+ years playing guitar
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had been in bands for 7 years when I signed a very lucrative contract with a manager and quit my really good government job. That guy turned out to be a sleazeball but I realized that I could, in fact, make a living as a musician. Sometimes I wouldn't have as many gigs as I needed, so I'd take what work was available - being a soundguy here, a booker there, recording folks for pay in my home studio, and so on and so on, and realized that I have the skills to make a living in the overall field of music.
