FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$25 for half hour. $37 for 45 mins. $45hour. ($15/week fee for teaching in the student's home, if in the Suwanee area.) Students pay once a month for the next 4 lessons which holds their position on the schedule.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For piano students, I'll send you the info to purchase your first book, which is about $7-11 on Amazon. For voice students, you will print the sheet music or words to the songs you want to work on, see if you can print it with the chords. Also see if the back up track (karaoke version) is on YouTube or iTunes. We select a time for lessons & get started!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a minor in Voice and Piano from the liberal arts college, the University of Montevallo, where I received a large music scholarship. I enjoyed being in the Concert Choir & University Chorus as well. I loved being involved with musical theater, singing on stage, playing keyboard in the pit orchestra, & leading the vocal warm ups for the cast. But more importantly I'm always learning new things musically so I understand what it feels like to be a student. I started piano lessons at 9 years old but I'm a life long learner. For example, I recently had a clarinet lesson & am hoping to begin other instruments. It's important for teachers to know what it feels like to be a student. Also, I'm looking at attending a school for leading worship. Favorite musical memory: Taking voice lessons from Celtic Woman's Lisa Kelly.
