FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is largely dependent upon the scope of your project, and the type of materials you'd like featured. For example, there is a sizable discrepancy in the pricing between basic painted plywood cabinets (which are totally fine), and custom Walnut cabinetry with soft close drawers. For this reason, I'm always happy to discuss your project needs in order to optimize the finished product.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I like to schedule a phone call at your convenience in order to get some basic information about your project, including desires, dislikes, and budget. From that point I can give you a ballpark quote, and we can schedule a meeting at the location of your project to lock down the details before we begin.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Having grown up the son of a General Motors design engineer in golden era Detroit (60's and 70's), I was never far from design. Some of my earliest memories are of my father pointing out the nuances in the lines and shapes of classic American cars. Since then, my life has always - in one way or another - revolved around creating. Upon graduating college in the mid-80's, I was faced with an underwhelming job market, and naturally took to carpentry and woodworking. I started buying and flipping old farmhouses on a shoestring budget, leading me to some creative solutions. I would reclaim the exterior wood sheathing from the house, and repurpose it into the project's cabinetry. 30 years and hundreds of projects later, I'm still inspired to keep developing as an artist and to provide the highest quality craftsmanship possible.
