We are still using him. Really knows what he is doing. Patient and encouraging. Really knows a lot more than most personal trainers. Great for people who are recovering from stroke or illness.Sep 5, 2018Verified
John is an excellent personal trainer. He is very knowledgeable and very innovative with his exercises. He makes our workouts interesting and exciting.Mar 30, 2018Verified
I've worked with John a while now and I'm extremely pleased with my results. At our initial consultation, I appreciated the time he took to answer/explain any questions that I asked. I like how he tailored an exercise plan just for me. His personal support is encouraging. I am stronger now and my body feels great. Oh, a HUGE plus is he comes to you for training. He's just a great guy to train with.Jul 12, 2017Verified
John is amazing. We've had a personal trainer before and after moving never thought we'd find another trainer who took such good care of their clients. We were very excited to start with John and truly have only great things to say about him as a person and trainer. We feel fortunate to have someone understand our goals and lifestyle and truly makes an effort to keep us on track, while keeping the sessions fun and lighthearted. We are not fitness buffs; just young parents trying to get back in shape and lead a healthy lifestyle. He gets that and help us reach our goals (which keep evolving).Jun 2, 2017Verified
John is working with our 13 year old son to address general fitness as well as concerns about knee problems and posture. He knows physiology very well (he's a Corrective Exercise Specialist certified through the national Academy of Sports Medicine, in addition to being a Personal Trainer) and is careful to work up to things in ways that doesn't cause injury and keeps interest. Our son looks forward to their sessions and after 6 we can already see signs of progress. We feel very lucky to have found John because he can help our son move towards being more fit while teaching him things that will help keep him stronger and healthier for life.Nov 19, 2016Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For personal training I start with a base hourly rate, with optional discounted packages of around 12, 24 and 36 sessions. For nutrition coaching there’s just a monthly rate based on how many times we decide to meet and what method of coaching works best for you! I offer payment plans and will work with you to be as flexible as I can to help us get started!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I schedule a free 1-1/2hr session with them to go over thier goals. For personal training clients I also go over their exercise and injury history and give them a posture assessment to find out any structural needs we would need to focus on for injury prevention. Then I can design a program just for them. The first session is also a great time for them to get to know me and try out a workout.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I received invaluable hands-on training experience and instruction from the athletic club that I initially started working with as a trainer, and with their guidance, I studied and received certifications for Personal Training and Corrective Exercise from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and Nutrition Coaching from Precision Nutrition (PN). I have also completed numerous continuing education courses to learn more and maintain my certifications. I was a four-sport athlete while in school and have been running marathons and competing in trail and ultra races for the past 15 years. In the case of emergency, I am also CPR certified.
