About
I am a NASM(National Academy of Sports Medicine) trained Personal Trainer and Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, that provides in-home, outdoor and online personal training services.
I have over a 15 years worth of experience working with clients on weight loss/toning, nutritional coaching, building muscle, corrective exercise/injury prevention and athletic training.
One thing that stands out with my services is the flexibility and convenience I provide my clients. With my personal training clients we train online, in-home or outdoors, so I come to them or meet in a public place if that is preferable.
I also offer online nutrition/wellness and accountability.
I base our workout design off what works best for you or what you prefer, things you’ve done in the past or just using the equipment and space we have available, be it bodyweight exercises or using resistance bands and free weights, or for more flexibility training incorporating exercises, stretching, and self-massage. We can alter the intensity of workouts based on your preference and also make it fun, and possibly incorporate aspects into your every day life. I really enjoy helping people get back in the activities that they had done previously or help them find new ways to have a more active lifestyle!
With nutritional coaching I work with clients coming up with short term goals of their own choosing and that we know are attainable and work on what they can do daily to reach those goals!
I also incorporate my corrective exercise training and experience that I can use to correct knee, back and neck issues that can eventually lead to a lot of pain and discomfort. I will perform a free goal and posture assessment to discover any areas that we need to focus on to help you to stay injury free during our sessions, such as past injuries/surgeries, current ankle, knee, back or neck discomfort, and then I will personalize your workouts based on the assessment and your goals.

John has been an amazing coach. His approach is catered to my needs and each session focuses on new areas to help me achieve my fitness goals. He is very knowledgeable and provides a lot of education as he teaches a new exercise offering different ways to approach each.

John is working with our 13 year old son to address general fitness as well as concerns about knee problems and posture. He knows physiology very well (he's a Corrective Exercise Specialist certified through the national Academy of Sports Medicine, in addition to being a Personal Trainer) and is careful to work up to things in ways that doesn't cause injury and keeps interest. Our son looks forward to their sessions and after 6 we can already see signs of progress. We feel very lucky to have found John because he can help our son move towards being more fit while teaching him things that will help keep him stronger and healthier for life.

We hired John for help with my father’s gait and weakness, and we have nothing but wonderful things to say so far! My father loves their sessions, and his core and leg strength has been increasing. We are no longer as concerned about my father falling, and have more confidence in his ability to get up if he did fall. John has been able to adapt his training program to my father’s needs, and it has truly been a blessing. Thank you, John!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For personal training I start with a base hourly rate, with optional discounted packages of around 12, 24 and 36 sessions.
I offer payment plans and will work with you to be as flexible as I can to help us get started!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I schedule a free 1-1/2hr session with them to go over thier goals.
For personal training clients I also go over their exercise and injury history and give them a posture assessment to find out any structural needs we would need to focus on for injury prevention. Then I can design a program just for them. The first session is also a great time for them to get to know me and try out a workout.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received invaluable hands-on training experience and instruction from the athletic club that I initially started working with as a trainer, and with their guidance, I studied and received certifications for Personal Training and Corrective Exercise from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and Nutrition Coaching from Precision Nutrition (PN). I have also completed numerous continuing education courses to learn more and maintain my certifications. I was a four-sport athlete while in school and ran marathons and competing in trail and ultra races for 15 years. In the case of emergency, I am also CPR certified.
