Introduction: I completed degrees from the College of William and Mary, the University of Maine and started my doctorate through the University of Phoenix while teaching at the United States Military Academy. While in the Geospatial Information Science Program at West Point, I was certified as a Master Teacher for researching the effect online learning has on student outcomes back in 2004. This summer, the international education community recognized my work with a Visionary Award. My work focuses on enabling others to achieve their Greatest Potential. I achieve this by guiding and mentoring students in College Test Preparation, predominately. I spend time helping students recognize the structure and format of each test section followed by a deep dive into the specific type of question asked. Those questions are repeated, and repeated, and repeated. On average, students work with me for 20 hours, typically in 2 hour blocks of instructions. I will always provide feedback at the completion of a session. Any adjustments to the plan can be communicated depending on progress. With Diagnostic Testing, I will create a Personal Learning Plan aligned to the Test Sections and the Content using College Board Material and Khan Academy. I trust the resonant tone of my introduction will lead to continuing communication. I may be the right person with whom to develop this significant relationship. Blessings, Brian

Brian tutored me through a college math course. Math has always been incredibly difficult for me. He was patient and didn’t get sick of me when I asked him to explain the same problem 3 times. After three long months I got a B!!! Plus, Brian’s just cool in general. Laid back. Good guy.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started tutoring online after attending classes online for my doctorate. In 2003 in started research on the effect of online learning on student outcome and earned Master Teacher Certification. I was teaching middle school in Harlem and decided to simplify my life so moved to the country, lived frugally, and taught online full-time starting in 2016.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with clients who score perfect scores. I have worked with clients ADD/ADHD. I work with Adult Learners.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

While hiring a tutor, a parent should look for someone with teaching experience, online / technology skills and personality fit. For example, I worked with national championship athletes, so I am familiar with the demands of the student / athlete.
