A contractor was assigned my project to quote and provide an estimate and he came out to my home to assess the scope of the job. Instead of providing me a quote/estimate, he asked me what was my budget. I was hesitant to provide a budgetary number because I needed an estimate of what the expense would be based on what I described I wanted. But I provided a range of "$4,000-to-$6,000". He obviously misunderstood or didn't hear clearly what I stated, so he states that he could do the job for "$40,000"?!?!??!?!?! Mind you, this would only be to screen in a 12'x15' patio. I can only assume that he thought I said "$46,000". He showed me some pictures of his work and another option for me to consider vs. screen. I was impressed and asked him to send me those pictures so that I could run them by my wife for approval. I also asked for the quote as soon as possible. It's been 5 days and no quote or pictures, and when I requested them, there's been no response.

Hiram, I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your in-home consultation. A verbal quote was provided to you at the time of the consultation and pictures were shown to you. A link to our website, which has photos was also provided. Supposedly, your wife was the person making the final decision to hire; however, she was not present the day of the consultation. We returned to your home for a follow-up consultation and did not hear back from you.
