- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a minimum service call fee of $125. I typically apply a flat rate to standard services. As for custom furniture or fixtures, pricing is established based on design, materials and delivery cost.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have a brief conversation to verify what it is the client needs and work them into my schedule without inconveniencing an existing client. If it is a standard service, I provide a quote. If the request is for custom work, we work out the details and scheduling together and I provide formal estimate. For custom furniture, I am able to provide a 3D rendering of the project for the client's input before work begins.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I apprenticed for an HVAC contractor during college. He had an incredibly broad range of customers and so I gained experience in just about all of the skilled trades. I did everything from fixing ice cream machines at restaurants to building custom wine humidors.
