FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Basic individual tax returns start at $200 with a discount of $25 for new clients for the first year. Rental property or stock sales will be charged at an additional nominal fee. Schedule C, Profit or Loss for Business will depend on the amount of accounting involved in preparation of this schedule.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After quoting and agreeing on a price, I will usually meet with a prospective client within the week, sometimes the next day. Being available evenings & weekends has huge advantages for busy clients. After having a sit-down meeting, I will collect your information, take it to my office & prepare your return. My turnaround time is dependent on your needs, but it's usually around a week. I do have the ability to get your return done faster if necessary. I will stop back by and bring your tax return to you. I have some clients who email me their information and I do their tax return without even really meeting them. Sometimes we might even get together over the summer for a BBQ. New clients are always awesome.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am required to take yearly continued education classes based on ethics, federal law & newly changed tax laws. I also receive training each year thru AARP's extensive volunteer training program which is regulated thru the IRS & thru Intuit's QuickBooks Training & Certification as well as my income tax software's custom training program.
