Introduction: I have been privileged to work with a number of incredible musical groups throughout my lifetime. On flute, I have performed with the award-winning El Dorado High School Marching Band from Placentia, CA. The EDHS Marching Band has held multiple state and international awards. I had the privilege of competing with them at the Kamehameha International Band Festival in Oahu, HI where we took top honors in all categories. I also marched with them in the 2010 Pasadena Tournament of Roses parade, also known as the world famous Rose Parade, on New Year's Day. During the traditional concert season, I performed with both the symphonic band and the prestigious wind ensemble, a group that was rated Superior across the board at local band festivals. In college I was a participant of the Collinsworth School of Music at California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. I was a member of the 110 piece Women's Choir. We performed approximately 3 times a month during the school year and took a tour across the United States for two weeks during the summer. The choir and the School of Music are both well known for their high standards of musicianship and dedication to excellence. As part of my scholarship to sing in the choir, I had the amazing privilege of taking voice lessons with two incredible singers: Natalie Taylor and Camelia Voin. Natalie is the director of music at Village Christian Schools in Burbank, CA and is a favorite of guests at Disneyland for her part in the Voices of Liberty! Camelia has performed classical and opera across the world and is sought after by musicians both here and abroad. I love the "aha!" moment everyone has when they've accomplished something that once sounded so unattainable. In music, this can be mastering a difficult piece, understanding a new concept, or performing to the best of your ability. I want to help you reach that sense of accomplishment and pride in your abilities as a musician and love the process of getting there!

I chose Ruthie to get my 8 year old daughter started with piano lessons. Ruthie has been an absolute pleasure to work with for both myself and my daughter. She is a fabulous teacher! I have already recommended her to several other people.

Ms. Ruthie is an amazing teacher, and is so wonderful with my boys (age 5 and 7). She makes music fun, and inspires them to achieve milestones with her natural enthusiasm for teaching. We need more teachers like her! She is the teacher that will be remembered long into adulthood for her positive influence :)
