About this pro

How does your business stand out?

I specialize in christian music and have recorded praise teams and worship music for churches on location. I'm set up to record bands live in my studio. I work with rock, country, bluegrass and blues artists and I'm very proud of my drum sound in my recordings. I'm a fanatic about my sound to the point that I build my own drums, guitars and basses. Quality is my number one concern.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I love the challenge of working with creative artists and helping them accomplish their goals by bringing excellent quality and my many years of expertise to the process of making good recordings.

I have had the privilege of recording at Michael's studio on several occasions and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere.. Mike is an outstanding Engineer and knows how to get the best out of you. He and the team of musicians Mike can assemble for a session are top notch and work at a break neck speed to produce work that rivals ANY studio ANYWHERE, hands down... I look forward to working at The L.E.J. studio again!

Working with Michael was a pleasure. I had never recorded before, and he made the experience easy for me. I felt very comfortable working with him...he is very professional. helped me make a cd, that I was proud of. I recommended him to a friend, from Ohio, when she came to visit, we took her there, and she recorded...one thing is for sure, I am not a professional singer, yet he made me sound like one.

I've known Michael Cornett for many years and in all of the time I have known him, I've always been so impressed with his musical skill, vocal abilities as well as what a great job he does in the recording studio. He is currently working with me on a new project and I am so extremely pleased with the level of professionalism as well as how helpful his knowledge and input are for this project. I also love how comfortable he makes me feel during my sessions. I would definitely recommend L.E.J. Recording Studio to anyone looking for excellent quality work for your project.

I've known Michael Cornett for years and he has always been a professiona, putting his heart into everything that he does. Michael is someone who not only knows the recording side of the business but is also a great coach for both musicians and singers alike. He has great familiarity with every genre of music you can imagine, and can help musicians improve on almost any instrument!

I am the drummer for Surrender. I enjoy working with Michael. He is a pro and has an ear for music. I highly recommend working with him to any one. I love the studio every time I walk in I immediately feel at home. He can and will help you not only record but will help you to become a better musician as well.

Very easy to work with. Has good ideas to help your songs be the best they can be. Very talented musician in his own right. Has a nice studio and comfortable setting. Also encourages the musician to strive to do his/her best work. Great studio for demo's or full project's. Only compliant is having a hard time getting drums to sound like what we want. But on a better note he is always willing to do what he has to,to make you happy. The only thing I personally think would make it better is set the drum kit on the floor instead of a wood riser. Great Studio!!!!!!!Great Guy!!!!!!

The anointing on his life is vibrantly obvious!!:))

L.E.J. Recordings Studio is set in a beautiful, peaceful setting in the North Georgia Mountains. Just being there will inspire you to try your best. It is a small studio that offers personal attention to you and the music you want to perform. Michael Cornett is professional, knowledgeable, and a true artist's musician. I am not a known singer, song writer, or musician so I needed all the patience and advice I could get. Michael provided that for me. I have been going to his studio for a few years now, and together we have improved my recordings immensely. Michael's ability to blend your voice to the many instruments that he plays makes a recording the best that it can be. I highly recommend that you consider L.E.J. Recordings for your next music project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The internet is my continuing education. I can find any information I could ever want there.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been recording my songs since I was in high school back in the late 1960's. I used to go and record in other people's studios and at one point I decided to start investing my money in recording equipment so that I could have my own studio where I could record as much as I wanted to.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I help them arrange, write and finish their compositions and then we work together to start the process of recording the instruments and vocals until the song is finished. I play guitar, bass, drums and keyboards well enough to sketch the songs out and then if necessary I bring in professional musicians to put down the final tracks. Sometimes my performance is enough to please the customer and that becomes the finished product. Once the recording is done then we mix and master the recordings. I help them with the album design if they need me to and then I send the master off for duplication.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We just finished the album COME TO ME by the Dirt Road Disciples from Dahlonega, Georgia. You can hear it on their website or Itunes. I'm hoping to help them get a distribution deal worked out with a record label.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Listen to what they have produced to get an idea if that's what you want them to do for you as well. An excellent finished product cost money because of the time and resources involved in molding and shaping the creative process of recording songs. Most people are not as prepared as they need to be when they come into the studio to record. Work that they haven't done at home is expensive to do in the studio.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I'm a passionate artist myself and I set extremely high standards for myself and everything that I do. I push my customers and challenge them to make their very best effort by mentoring and giving them constructive feedback on their performances.
