FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Legal fees depend on the nature, complexity, and anticipated scope of the matter. During the initial consultation, I review the client’s objectives and available information so that I can explain the expected fee structure and any required retainer before work begins. Some matters may be handled for a flat fee, while contested or litigation matters are generally billed based on the time and work required. Clients receive a written fee agreement outlining the applicable terms before representation begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin with an initial consultation to understand the client’s concerns, objectives, and the facts surrounding the matter. I then evaluate the available documents, potential claims or defenses, procedural posture, and practical options. Once retained, I explain the anticipated process, immediate priorities, and information needed from the client. We gather and organize the relevant records, develop the legal and factual strategy, and identify the next steps necessary to protect the client’s interests. Throughout the representation, I provide direct communication, practical guidance, and diligent advocacy while keeping the client informed of significant developments, decisions, and deadlines.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My legal education, courtroom experience, and ongoing professional development directly support the work I perform for my clients. I regularly participate in Continuing Legal Education focused on the areas in which I actively practice, including civil litigation, contract disputes, real property matters, probate, and estate-related litigation. I am also an active member of the Fayette County Bar Association and currently serve as Vice President. Through my involvement with the local bar, I remain connected with other attorneys, judges, and legal professionals and stay informed about issues affecting the courts and our community. I place significant value on professional collaboration, mentorship, and maintaining relationships with experienced attorneys across different practice areas. I also enjoy researching developing legal issues and matters affecting my local community. Continued education, professional involvement, and practical experience help me remain current and provide clients with informed, strategic representation.
