- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the initial phone contact, I will introduce myself and ask you questions to get an idea of your needs. At that point, if I feel I can meet your needs, we will schedule the first visit, so I can get a more detailed look at the project, address all of your concerns, and discuss all of your options. After the initial visit I will submit a quote by e-mail, for your approval (usually within 1-2 business days, depending on the size, and type of project). In some cases, if the project, is small enough, I can give you a quote, and, with your approval, start on the same day. All of my quotes will include estimated labor and (if required) an estimate of material costs, unless you have already purchased materials. If a project exceeds $1,000, on the starting date, I will present you with a contract for review and signing, (in most cases a 25-50% down payment may be required, based on the contract amount), before the work commences. I will arrange pick-up and delivery of your materials on the starting date. When the project is completed, to your satisfaction, I will collect final payment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a High School Graduate. I began my career in construction at age 16, as a laborer, over the summer, and continued with the same employer for the next five years, at which time I held the title of Lead Carpenter. At age 21, I went to work for a remodeling contractor, and began learning many of the skills related to most aspects of residential construction. I worked there until joining the U.S. Army, at age 25, where I was trained in radio repairs, and served 8 yrs, in the Army National Guard, here in Ga. During that time I partnered with a small independent remodeling contractor, and fellow Guard member, for several yrs, where I began learning the skills required to run a small business. In 1992, He moved out of the area, and I decided to open my business as Raezer Builders, a general contractor, and continued until 2010, at which point I closed the business, for health reasons, and went to work for Lowe's, where I served as a Mill-works Specialist (doors, windows, and moldings). During that time, I had so many requests from my Lowe's customers, that I continued to do part-time small residential repairs under my existing license. In April of 2014, the project requests from my Lowe's customers became so numerous, that I saw an opportunity to return to the industry full time as a handy-man and opened Raezer Home Repair & Maintenance.
