- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $225 hourly, though for certain types of sessions, like newborns , and pets I do a flat fee.I shoot on location, or at clients homes. There is no travel fee up to 50 miles. After 50 miles the fee is negotiable depending upon the amount of work. Many photographers charge a fee for outfit changes, I have no fee for this. I do have an add on fee of $100 for additional types of sessions added into the shoot. Ex. A client hires me for a family portrait, then decides they would like a headshot, or solo portrait in another style. For location changes, there is a $50 fee, depending upon the distance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For weddings and events, I typically like to meet with my clients ahead of the job to discuss all of the details. Otherwise, a short phone conversation to make sure I understand my clients needs, and get all of the details possible is essential.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started off doing landscape and nature photography back on n the days of film. I started photographing weddings as a second photographer, and now book wedding clients of my own. What I enjoy most however, is portrait photography.. I love the more relaxed pace, and opportunity to be more creative, and artistic.
