FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Usually, one of the first questions of a new client is "what do you charge"? The answer is it depends. Since I am independent I govern my own fees. I can and have even worked for free, but usually the majority of charges range between two hundred and three hundred forty dollars, but I can lower the price, or even raise the price, if I deem fit. One is paying for a lot more than typing in a lot of numbers. If that is all a person is looking for, he or she can do this themselves. I am not competing on low price leadership, and I am not trying to compete on price with persons who file their tax returns. One thing I learned is that no matter how low a person's price quote is, there is someone out there who can always quote a lower one. Not all tax returns are the same in scope and complexity.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The service is current on tax law changes for individuals, and small businesses as continuing education is an on-going process.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs I do for my customers are individual tax returns on the 1040 series of schedules and forms. Many of these involve other states either as a full-year resident, part-year resident, or non-resident. The service has the capability to file any state's tax return.
