Justin did an amazing job at my moms 80th birthday party! She was great at communication and following up with plans.She showed up early and my family all thought that she was delightful. Justin did the photo shoot for our sons graduation and did an amazing job! She was patient & thoughtful and recommended excellent profiles for my son who hates getting photographed. She even took extra photos for my husband & me. Justin was patient & didnt rush us despite it taking longer than our time slot. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve been practicing photography since my teenage days in the 90s. It’s been an artistic hobby for many years. I traveled to Costa Rica about 10 years ago and had the opportunity to photograph a variety of different people, and I had so much fun! I decided to grow my photography hobby into a career. I’ve spent years consistently working as a professional food photographer, dabbling in portrait photography, which has now become the focus of my passion.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I’ve recently completed a few college graduation photoshoots, all with clients I met for the first time on the day of the photoshoots. I love working with new people, because there’s always a moment in a shoot when a window opens up into their genuine spirit & personality. I have go-to poses that I use, plus I like to arrive with a handful of new things to try, which I think facilitates people feeling comfortable enough to relax and just enjoy being themselves. And then I have the opportunity to capture that! These recent graduation shoots ranged from 1-3 hour sessions.
