FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No standard pricing. There are too many variables to consider. In general, a speaking engagement of 1 hour within reasonable driving distance is about $1000 for the first hour and then $750 thereafter. Anything outside of that will vary. I believe in negotiation. As long as both parties feel they are treated fairly then a contract should be no issue.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what the customer wants. Do they want training or just a speech/talk of some kind? What size audience? What is the overall goal or expectation of the customer? Do they have a budget? How far will I need to travel? Who covers the travel expenses? This information helps me to know if I am the right fit and if I can provide service. Once we agree on a price I will have a contract formed and a date set. I then work closely with the customer to ensure everything is in order and scheduled and we have a fabulous turnout!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have spent most of my career in the sales field in some way or another. I have had huge successes, major failures, unexpected setbacks, and unavoidable situations. I have also been self-employed and currently run 2 businesses while helping my wife keep her business moving forward. I believe strongly in customer service whether on the phone or in person, something that is greatly lacking in businesses today. I believe in people and feel that all humans regardless of circumstance, setback, or other challenge can set goals and accomplish them. Often we just need someone to believe in us!
