Faux Finishing or Painting

Kevyn is wonderful. Not only is her work beautiful, she is very prompt with returning phone calls and comes on time and gets the work done in the time she estimates. She is very personable and friendly, feels like I've known her forever. She faux finished my dining room, updated my mantle and mud room, and painted an armoire. Everything looks fantastic. She is very talented.

Furniture Refinishing

Delightful young woman, very efficient, very detail-oriented, finished the job (painting black furniture a cream color) quickly and for a reasonable price. Furniture looks lovely! I highly recommend her!

Furniture Refinishing

Kevyn was so professional and easy to work with. She painted my daughter's bed and her night table. They look wonderful. I will certainly call on her in the future!

Furniture Refinishing

If I could give Kevyn more than five stars, I would! Her work is top-notch; she’s quick; and her prices are reasonable!

Furniture Refinishing

Wow! I am absolutely beyond impressed. Kevyn did an amazing job with my guest room furniture from start to finish. First, she was very patient with me and devoted her undivided attention to my numerous inquiries. Next, she is extremely talented! I had crazy ideas in mind and she politely recommended other avenues. She merged what I wanted with what she felt would be appropriate based on the look I was aiming to accomplish. She arrived on time and completed as projected. Our project was completed ~ 3 weeks ago now and I am still going around my house looking for other projects for her. My only regret is that I did not know about Kevyn sooner. Oh, the places we could have gone with my daughters' nurseries (who are now 13 and 11:<). After using Kevyn, you will honestly rethink tossing furniture and decor because this lady breathes new life into everything:)!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

It is really hard to have a standard pricing system for all the different services I offer. It all depends on the look that the client has in mind, and the condition of the existing piece, or space, etc,. Each project requires a different amount of time and all different kinds of materials, so that is why I often have to reply to thumbtack requests with "need more info" and ask for pictures at least before I can even consider pricing. Thumbtack just doesn't offer enough blanks on the request form for me to possibly be able to get all the information I need with initial contact.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Often I first tell clients to email or text me photos of something they have in mind, and with a little info I can usually give them a rough estimate of how much certain projects will cost before even seeing them in person. I like to be direct as to not waste the client’s time because most people don’t have a clue how much these services cost, so they can immediately decided if they would like to move forward. I love to meet with a new client in their home to get a feel for their taste, style, and colors that excite them. Often new clients have a picture of something from a magazine or Pinterest and they want me to recreate something specific, or often times they are open to ideas. It is fun to be able to put our heads together and figure out what is perfect for the space. If the client doesn't have a picture to show me, I can often show them pictures that aren't necessarily on my website just because putting I often get too busy to stay on top of that! I usually end up texting with some clients late into the evening just sending ideas back and forth because the process can get very involved- and exciting!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) and majored in Interior Design. With this major I took many art classes, as well as Color Theory and Color Science, which taught me things that I think about every day when I can't help but analyze color. I worked for a few designers after college, and while I learned a lot, it was discouraging to eventually get laid off because the designers were forced to close their doors in a struggling economy. I ended up taking a job with a faux painter, and I ended up falling in love with the profession. I thought it was the best mix of design, and always being "artsy fartsy." Even though "decorative painter" is a little off the path of a "interior designer," I wouldn't have the eye that I do for color and design as I would without this education. Considering every single project is different, I think of every day as new on-the-job training!
