With 13 years of professional dog experience, I’ve dedicated my career to understanding canine behavior. Starting right after high school at an open-play facility, I spent 6-12 hours daily observing dogs and their complex interactions. I trained staff on preventing fights, managing inappropriate behaviors, and ensuring safe play environments. My responsibilities included handling aggressive dogs, specialized feeding protocols, and administering various veterinary medications. This hands-on experience with diverse dog personalities led me to develop Paws and Lessons, my personalized training approach. I’m deeply passionate about helping people understand their dogs better and bridging communication gaps between pets and owners. Every dog has unique needs, and I love helping families navigate these relationships successfully. Jonathan has been awesome to work with! We have a 75 lb dog. We have tried several dog trainers and programs all of which were unsuccessful one of the dog trainers quite saying our dog was too aggressive and a lost cause. We got our dog during Covid and he was not socialized and was very aggressive towards anyone not living in our home. It has caused a huge stress on us as people can’t come to the house and we struggle when taking him anywhere. He typically has to be muzzled and even with that is extremely aggressive. We have worked with Jonathan and in only a few sessions I have seen a huge improvement in our dog. We were able to take our first trip without our dog in 5 years and everything went great! Jonathan even sent pictures while we were gone showing Teddys progress. Taking him out places is getting much better and I am so excited that shortly we should be able to have people in our home again! We have started calling Jonathan the dog whisperer in our house as we are so impressed with his ability!

Our dog, Loki, was scared of going down our hallway, down the inside/outside stairs, etc. One session with Jonathan and Loki is doing all of these things. Jonathan is very loving with the dogs and with his quiet strength, dogs respond. I will continue to use Jonathan for training and look forward to seeing the changes in our 1 year old dog, Loki.

We had aggression, jealousy, possessiveness and some other non-desirable traits of our youngest boxer towards our other two, he would constantly attack our oldest Boxer, which caused a lot of tension and anxiety for us with the other two dogs in our home. We were at our wits end and thought we might have to rehome him, so we decided as a last-ditch effort to see if additional training would help. Johnathon came in and immediately saw our problem and gave us tools and direction with all of our dogs and their behaviors in all the problem areas we had, and he explained their personalities, hierarchy and traits. After 3 sessions, and with his direction we have a different household and a more relaxed environment. It was money well spent. Johnathon is friendly, professional, knowledgeable and easy going, and our dogs especially our trouble child he took immediate control of the situation. We can't thank him enough for his help and guidance with our Pack and will definitely use him again if needed. I would score 10 stars if I could. Thank you, Johnathon, for all your help, I don't think we could say it enough, I just wish we would have thought to get a picture of you and Styx.
