We pride ourselves on helping our customers to feel comfortable and not intimidated. We specialize in family portraiture and headshots for models, actors and business professionals. Dave handled my request for a Corporate Headshot on short notice and did a terrific job. He obliged all of my company's requirements for the photos. I'd recommend him to anyone for any type of photography needed.

David did my corporate headshots over a year ago. Pics came out just fine. He was professional, and his wife was sweet and helpful. Only thing is I wish I had known up front that his studio is in the basement of his home. I can't lie, it was creepy. But I went with it because his previous reviews at that time were positive. Looking back, I wasn't very smart about the situation. I do appreciate that David asked if he could use my pics for marketing purposes. Some photographers don't bother asking. Now that I know what to expect, I'd surely hire him again if needed.

I didn't know it was a home studio but right away Dave made me feel at ease and welcome. He along with his wife were great hosts and kept me laughing through my photo shoot. We got some great shots that I can use for headshots and for my mime ministry. Thanks Dave for a delightful experience, I would recommend MagicStar Photography to anyone that wants to get some great shots and not feel pressed for time, because sometimes it takes people more than 30 minutes to loosen up and get the shots that really count.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do complete studio photo sessions, priced by the number of people, clothing changes and location. In the studio a single or couple portrait session including an 8X10 print starts as low as $149.00 total. Our studio has the expertise, cameras, lighting equipment, etc. to capture your portraits, and the computers and latest software to digitally enhance and retouch the photos to make your portraits look amazing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend classes offered through Professional Photographers of America. I read constantly, learning new things about my profession. I study videos about photography and lighting techniques, often studying things online late into the night. I actually try to learn something new every day, whether it be from a book, something I saw online, or just something I learned from personal experience. This is a profession that offers new techniques, equipment and knowledge all the time. I accept the challenge to keep up and not get left behind.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Professional photography is what I do. There are many very talented photographers I must compete with, and some not so talented as well. My work is 100% guaranteed. I promise to give you quality work for a reasonable fee. If after seeing my work, if you do not agree that it meets or exceeds your expectations, you will not be charged for it. I also believe that while my prices are competitive, the quality is more important then the price.
