First and most important, is the general inspection of the house. A certified home inspector will examine the features of the house such as its structure, the exterior, the interior, roofing, electrical installations, plumbing, HVAC, insulation and ventilation. Once the inspection is completed, the home inspector will provide you with a report suggesting certain improvements or repairs deemed necessary to fix to meet the right standards. This report could be a great tool in further negotiations with the seller. Another home inspection process you may want to have is a termite/wood destroying organism inspection. The inspector would check for signs of structural damage caused by insects which could cause significant problems down the road.
