I have hired David Raney on multiple occasions to complete a variety of executive-level writing assignments, ranging from speeches to letters to substantially researched opinion pieces. Having worked at multiple institutions (Princeton, Dartmouth, Emory), I can say with confidence that I have never seen a professional writer with more versatility, depth and sheer talent. He can shift from one distinct, demanding assignment to the next with remarkable easefrom channeling the cadence of a speech to crafting a data-driven, evidence-based argument. As is true of the best writers, David is a scrupulous researcher and interviewer, assessing a story from all angles before choosing the path in. His delight in, and facility with, langauge is evident in every piece he writes. He is there to crack the nutto understand better, for example, this undergraduate or that philanthropist and to convey that understanding to his readers. There is both disciplined method in the way he writes and poetic insight. Each time David completes a piece, the 'it' is there for all to see; whatever he was called upon to describe is there in memorable form. But here is the bonus one only gets in the hands of an expert like David: he never forgets the 'we.' For those lucky enough to be David's readers, the world gets a bit bigger and more comprehensible every time he sets down his pen.

I highly recommend David. He checked in with me throughout my writing process. He edited and made suggestions throughout my dissertation and ensured that the APA formatting was correct. He was supportive and timely. I will definitely use his services again!

Mr. Raney did an exceptional job proofreading and copyediting my first manuscript. As a novice writer, I was most concerned about my audience being distracted by poor grammar and punctuation. Now, I feel confident for anyone to read my book. I highly recommend Mr. Raney for all authors especially novice. He is highly qualified, prompt, and understanding. I will definitely hire him again.
