HVACTECHPROS Review: (NOTE) This company is also known as "The HVAC Techs" on the internet (https://thehvactechs.com/services/).
Willy, the HVAC technician, was scheduled to arrive between 12 & 3 PM; he arrived at 3:40 PM. We had a dryer vent that needed to be re-routed in the crawl space to avoid a U-turn in the line which was prone to gathering lint. Willy finished the job, which required no new parts, an hour and ten minutes later.
The invoice for the work was $375 plus an $85 service charge*, for a total of $460. The $460 total pencils out to just over $395/hour (usually the service call charge is applied to the work done, and is not an additional charge). The $375 charge by itself amounts to over $300/hour for the labor charge.
Thinking the charge was high, I later checked the internet and found three sites providing the typical labor cost for a HVAC technician, which was uniformly between $100 and $150/hour. Accordingly, Willy’s charge for his labor was more than double the upper range for this type of work.
His work was OK; the charges were quite excessive. I won’t be using HVACTECHPROS again.
