Introduction: I have been working professionally with dogs for 12 years now. Immediately after high school I began working at an “open-play” dog facility. Being in the yard with the dogs for 6-12 hours daily granted me invaluable knowledge about dogs and the multitude of ways that they interact. Consequently, I became the lead trainer for employees. I was in charge of teaching new and old employees on how to better conduct their days with their dogs (preventing dog fights, accidents, chewing on furniture, humping, and other inappropriate behavior). In this role I also was tasked with handling aggressive dogs that stayed with us, special feeding instructions, and administering virtually every medication under the veterinary umbrella.
Through years of practice and a plethora of different challenges with dogs and their countless personalities, I created my own training program I refer to as Paws and Lessons. I am seriously passionate about the work that I do. Sometimes dogs are misunderstood and I love clearing the blurred lines! Jonathan is incredible at what he does. Our puppy has been aggressive and territorial toward people that come to our home since we got him and we haven’t been able to figure out how to even start working with him on this issue. We finally decided we needed help.
I was worried I wouldn’t find anything affordable, but Jonathan’s prices are MUCH lower than most places AND he comes to you. His methods are very cool and he gets results fast. He’s taught my boyfriend and I a lot of useful tips along the way.
While our puppy still has things to work on, we’ve seen a massive difference in his temperament and in how quickly we can get him to stop barking/growling or doing any other unwanted behavior after only 3 sessions. Even after the first session we saw a huge difference.
I can’t say enough great things about Jonathan and would recommend him for any of your dog training needs. He’s a wealth of knowledge. He’ll teach you things outside of the standard training stuff you read online or regularly hear from other people. He’s easy to get in contact with and very reliable. We are so so happy with the results we’ve gotten.

We have had 2 training sessions with our 11 month old pit bull and we are so happy with what we have noticed so far. October is a leash puller and has an extreme case of selective hearing. After 2 sessions October is controlling her emotions better, is more focused on us when we are training her and we feel more comfortable. Jonathan knows what he is doing and delivers proof the very first time he meets you and your fur baby. We will be continuing further with Jonathan after she gets spayed. So looking forward to watching her grow and learn how to go from a good dog to a great one!

I must say working with me Fantroy has been a great experience he’s truly a dog whisperer at its best. He’s very patient and is very knowledgeable when it comes to dogs lets say he really speaks their language ,my dog had such a hard time running out the door and disappearing & also just very rambunctious I reached out to get training with paws and lessons training and there has been such a big improvement and has impact me and my dogs life with paw and lessons she is now calm and the door can be wide open and she does not even think twice to leave paws and lessons really made a big impact on my and my dogs life highly recommend.

Jon was so helpful. We had just gotten a miniature dachshund puppy and our lab had shown aggression towards him. Jon worked with them and made us feel better about how to monitor their interactions and slowly ease into them. His knowledge about behavior of dogs was outstanding and so helpful. Now, we are able to let our dogs interact, play, and have the loving relationship that they have formed with Jon’s help. It is truly amazing to go from being dog parents that are stressed out every second to being able to relax and let your dogs play and love on each other is such a breath of fresh air. Thank you Jon for being a miracle worker in our lives! I would 100/10 recommend him for any needs that you may have with your animals!

We have had an excellent experience working with Jon, of Paws and Lessons. Not only have we benefited from the training for our two dogs but we have highly valued the in home puppy sitting allowing us to take short trips without worrying about our fur babies.
