What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are no surprises when it comes to our pricing. Each project is bid and approved before we start with exact details of what the customer will be billed. More specifics are listed on our website.
The way we arrive at a price for our work, whether its mural painting, a wedding backdrop or graphic design, is based on time. Each painting project has its own variables of access, style and surface. Each graphic design project involves time for the elements involved in each project. We take into account the needs of the customers, along with the variables listed above to come up with a great value for our clients.
Our experience allows you to get the best value for your investment in mural painting, event painting or the graphic design because we can arrive at solutions and ideas that will give you what you are looking for within a reasonable time frame at a reasonable cost.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love and am particularly good at both art and math. I know - weird, right?
Graphic design is a natural marriage of the two. With both sides of my brain fully engaged for my clients, I can literally transform a boring piece of advertising into something that everybody on that company's team is excited about, especially when they get results! And that excites ME!
Mural painting works the same. It takes the artists' eye and skill to implement a great mural, but it takes that ole left brain to figure out how to get it up on the wall!
Both skills are a natural fit for my ambidextrious brain!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Graphic Design and mural painting jobs are both unique to the client, but typically in graphic design, I create a logo and then marketing materials, including a website, trade show graphics, letterhead, and brochures, etc to create a complete branding or re-branding for a company. Murals are used to complete a branding campaign and/or to transform a space; to brighten it up; to build on a theme. There is nothing short of remodeling that transforms a room more than a mural.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Graphic Design: Southeast Lineman Training Center is a client that we took from print shop graphics to a full-blown rebranding, creating a tagline (now trademarked), an award-winning new look and feel for all of their materials, including catalogs, website design, trade show graphics, sales materials, acceptance package, training manuals, murals inside their building and so much more. We even helped design a special award for their students. This is a great example of elevating a brand and bottom line - taking their reputation from little known to well-known, graphics from so-so to trend-setter and resulting in an almost 30% increase in student enrollment.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice to customers seeking either graphic design or mural painting is not to hunt by price alone. There are a lot of factors that go into offering good value to customers other than the cheapest price. An experienced professional might cost a little more up front but can help you avoid costly mistakes. For graphic design, this means helping customers identify what they are really trying to accomplish and forming a strategy that will meet that need within budget and time constraints. Anybody with a computer can make a logo, but do they understand what that logo should be representing for you, the client, and what is really on the line - what will give you the best ROI?
The same is true for murals - many people can paint a tree, but are they using the right paint? are they working safely? will the mural last or fade in the sun?
These and many more reasons are why it's prudent to look at more than just cost when it comes to hiring a graphic or mural professional.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
In looking for a graphic designer OR a mural painter, be sure you compare apples with apples. Just to look at an hourly rate tells you only one thing. To look at the work tells you only one thing. When you are pricing, get the whole picture Look for experience, referrals, turnaround time and even the demeanor of the provider to get a better picture of the true value of the services you are about to pay for.
