FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My uncle began training me when I was around 12. I had to do all the "grunt" work, ie, stripping and sanding for several years before I was allowed to learn finishing. I loved working with my hands and with wood and making it look beautiful. I've tried other things, but never lost my love of wood.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Cabinet, antique and furniture repair and refinishing. We also do custom colors that YOU choose, shading, staining, sanding, beveled mirror placement, chair glue ups, veneer work, infant and patio furniture, even interior woodwork and doors.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they know what they're doing! A good finisher can tell you the colors that will look good with different woods, and they can differentiate in the types of wood. Ask about the different types of finish that can be done, and get references!
