You won’t find anyone in the low country with more education, experience and desire to improve your life with your canine companion. I am a graduate of the West Virginia Canine College and All Dogs Gym and Inn School of Dog Grooming. I eventually became the head instructor at the West Virginia Canine College as well as building two successful businesses in the pet care/training field.
I present a unique way of how you look at your relationship with your pet based on dog psychology, leadership and the art of respectful discipline. I am driven to helping make your life with your pet less stressful and more enjoyable which in turn does the same for your pet. I look forward to working with your family, your pets and creating a life long resource for your pet care needs. (Behavior modification, pet sitting at my home, let outs at your home, dog walking)

Lloyd was exceptional. His years of experience made it so easy to understand the mistakes I have been making with my dog and in just two hours, I was able to see a significant change in my dog's behavior. It will take more work on my part to continue what we have started but I feel much more confident that I will be a better dog owner and that my dog, Winnie, will continue to learn to let go of her fears and be a more confident dog. Thank you, Lloyd. We have seen such a remarkable change in our dog already.

Lloyd and his wife were, and continue to be, outstanding - truly professional, knowledgable, and effective. We brought home a rescue puppy, and soon realized we were in over our heads. It had been 16 years since we trained any puppy, and with our new puppy not having been socialized for his first 14 weeks, we had a cute looking lunging, biting, nipping, suborn, dominating, fear aggressing, protesting new addition to our family, which left us all wondering if he was going to be too aggressive to keep, since we have children in our home and elderly neighbors all around.
At our first lesson, Lloyd assessed our puppy and assured us he was safe to keep, IF we socialized him and trained him properly. He demonstrated and explained step by step how we were to interact with him in every situation in and outside of our home. Our puppy has not lunged, bit, or nipped since our first lesson! Also, we discussed crate training, and our puppy is sleeping through the night without all of the commotion of scratching, crying, howling and barking that we endured pre- Lloyd. He has become much less fearful, after following Lloyds plan for meeting his socialization needs.
We had a follow-up lesson two weeks later to learn how to walk him properly on the leash, so as he grows we do not have an out of control beast who is dragging us down the street. Again, after a short lesson, demonstration and education in proper technique, our puppy is walking when we ask him to do so, he used to sit down and only walk if he wanted to; he is no longer pulling us down the block, he walks behind or next to us; he has quit lunging at other dogs to play, and waits to see if we let him meet another dog; and he is waiting to walk into the house, instead of being overly excited and out of control.
We still have a lot of work to do with our new puppy but I feel confident knowing I can text or call Lloyd with any questions or concerns. He ALWAYS responds in a timely manner with straight forward, easy to understand instruction.
Also, we have Lloyd to thank for us getting our puppy on medication for Giardia, a puppy parasite that vets do not automatically test for, as when I described his eating habits and elimination patterns, Lloyd suggested this might be an issue. In fact, when we went to the vet, Giardia was causing our puppy to be ridiculously hungry and needing to go outside much too often. He was put on medication to clear the condition and that helped him with potty training and eating more appropriately.
We will continue to check in with Lloyd from time to time, as he is amazing. We credit him with turning our truly horrific situation into a joyful loving one for both our puppy and ourselves. Obviously, we highly recommend him without any reservations what so ever. Thank you Lloyd! - L.K. HHI, SC. January, 2022

Today we work up with a whole new dog. Our experience yesterday was our first session of training with our puppy and was so beneficial to both us and our pup. After arriving on time Lloyd from L.E.A.D got right to work with us. He corrected us and gave us theory behind everything he taught. Our pup was responsive to the training and showed immediate progress. He demonstrated many techniques for us to mimic in his absence that we will be able to easily carryover. We are excited to see what the next few weeks will bring for our new pup and can’t wait for our next session after we’ve practiced what we know so far. Lloyd is priced well for what you get. No contract or commitment of sessions. He’s a professional who has been doing this for 30 years. It is easy to see his love of dogs and the knowledge he brings to his sessions. We are glad we’ve found an ace!

Lloyd is amazing. He is so knowledgeable and realistic in his training. He has helped us immensely with our 4 year old dog who has a lot of anxiety and wants to protect the home. You cannot go wrong with Lloyd if you want a firm and professional trainer and canine behaviorist.

We contacted Lloyd to help us with our 8 month old German shepherd named Obi. We had done a significant amount of training with Obi already, but he was displaying some aggressive tendencies towards strangers entering our home and we wanted to get some help with that. Lloyd came for his standard 2 hour session and when he left we felt we had a much better handle on the situation. Using some standard training techniques, he gave us a number of tools to handle Obi's aggressiveness in many different situations. On top of that he showed us new tricks to help with leash walking, and general leadership training, something Lloyd highly stresses the importance of. I would recommend Lloyd for anyone trying to learn how to better train their dog, regardless of issues you may be struggling with.

Follow-ups are suggested after a few weeks, few months, first year and when another dog is being introduced. Ask about our puppy training, electric fence, and bootcamp training packages.
See my website for more details! $25 additional charge over thirty minute drive, $50 over sixty minutes drive.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer it is important to understand their concerns and to evaluate their dog. I typically can do that within the first 10 minutes of meeting them. This is done with the first training session in which I teach the owner the skills needed. I also work with their dog. Sometimes customers do not require a follow-up and are usually surprised at how much they learn in the first training session (which is two hours).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have graduated from West Virginia Canine College over 20yr ago.
I have also completed a certificate in grooming at All Dogs Academy in Manchester in 2010.
In August 2015 I updated my CPR and First Aid training through American Red Cross
