It is difficult for me to recommend Overstreet Lawn Care for medium-scale landscaping projects. Project Summary: Back yard stump removal, grading, and installation of sod. 1. Did not finish grading the yard due to an underestimation of time needed to remove stumps. Instead of reserving the excavator for another day to finish the agreed job, insisted that the yard was sufficiently graded as is. Now we have to re-grade the area that was left out. 2. The area prepped for sod was uneven and lumpy due to the ground not being properly rolled beforehand. As a result there are many sinkholes and mounds in the uneven sod. In many places I had to dig out extra/replace dirt myself after installation. 3. Poor installation of sod. I had to re-lay 30% of the sod due to large gaps left between the sod pieces. Overall the quality of work was mediocre. I may be wrong, but my guess is that Overstreet estimated X days for the project and when it became apparent that the estimate would not be met, the remaining work was rushed to completion instead of adjusting the schedule to complete the job with quality.
Marcus was extremely responsive to my service request on Thumbtack. His price for removing several tree limbs was very competitive. He arrived earlier than scheduled, completed the work in a timely manner, loaded up the cut limbs for removal in his truck, and cleaned up perfectly. You would never have known he was there - which in this case is a compliment! Also, Marcus shared he was an Air Force veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq. We are extremely proud to have met him, and to help a veteran.
All I can say is WOW. Marcos and his team did an excellent job! We were in desperate need of some help with our backyard. The grass had died in most areas and we had a big party that we were hosting three weeks from when Marcos showed up to provide an estimate. After a short consultation, Marcos provided us with a quote on the spot to lay around 3500+ sq ft of sod, mulch around the plants, and pebble rocks to fill our walkway (after digging it out). Not only did he provide us with the best price, but he also committed to starting the job within the next five days even though he had a busy schedule. Marcos showed up for the job on time, did everything that he said he was going to do and stayed true to the original quote. He really went above and beyond what we expected. He was even able to remove some of the small stumps that we had in our yard which had been an eyesore for quite some time. We laid fescue sod in the backyard in the middle of May (at our request) and I was quite nervous that it would be too hot for it to root. But we are now a month from the day that the job was completed and the grass is growing incredibly well. I think the pictures say it all. You will not regret hiring Marcos and his team!
The Art of Home Improvement replaced the roof on our house in Rome. We are completely happy and very satisfied with our new roof, all the way around – quality of workmanship, materials, labor, value, communication, thoroughness, and care and clean-up of our property. Ray's bid was based on data that he used that is specific to our older home. His bid was accurate, thorough and fair. Very professional! When Ray and I met early on to first discuss the roof replacement, he offered many options concerning construction and shingle types. He explained up front what the entire job would entail from beginning to end. Our home is in the historic district, and is nearly 80 years old. Ray updated the old venting system with new ridge vents, which will lower heating and cooling bills, new drip edge and new flashing all around. Ray left shingle samples with us, and we were able to hold the sample up to our cedar shingle siding, in order to choose the right color shingle. We were considering a light color which would not have looked good on our home at all, but when we were able to compare a sample next to our siding, we realized how a darker, slate color was the perfect choice. It looks great! Ray kept in contact with us prior to beginning the job. If I had a question or concern, Ray returned my calls or emails promptly. He made it clear that he is available anytime if I have a concern following completion. All is good. The crew was great! All are very nice young people. I have done some roofing in my younger days, and I can they know what they are doing. Ray and his crew worked hard, non-stop, all day to complete the job. They covered the driveway, our plants and shrubs and our deck with tarps to protect them. No plant was damaged, and our deck looks as good as always. Clean up was extremely thorough. They cleaned the gutters, swept up and picked up any small shingle materials, and then they used magnets and a magnetic roller to pick up stray roofing nails that may have missed the tarps. We have had no nail issues. Ray even left a large magnet wand with us, so that when the dumpster was hauled away the following morning, I could use it to pick up nails and metal debris that may have been under the dumpster, or had fallen out when they winched the dumpster up to the truck. Ray is a nice man, and it was a pleasure to do business with The Art of Home Improvement. Ray was on time with each and every appointment, start time and completion time that he gave us. Ray returned each and every communication with us in a very timely manner. The Art of Home Improvement’s customer service is top notch! We love our new roof! Our house looks great!! The quality of construction, the warranties for construction and materials, and the pleasant experience we had working with Ray and The Art of Home Improvement are all 5 star!! If you are looking for a good roofing company, which is friendly, reliable, does great work at a great price, and keeps its commitments, then I would not hesitate to choose The Art of Home Improvement for the job. Thank you.
We hired Instant Rain to fill a large hole in our yard which has bothered us since we bough the home and also bury some downspout hoses. He arrived on time and completed the job in one day with his crew! They even blew the pine straw off my driveway as they were cleaning up (in other words, left my house cleaner than it was originally). To fill the hole they smoothed my backyard out and utilized mostly existing dirt but then I requested we add some to the neighbor's side of the hole. He had more dirt brought to the site and completed it without question. I was a bit nervous about how a backhoe would fit through the fence they pulled up (they pulled it up very neatly and replaced it as if it was never touched) but his backhoe driver was a complete pro - zipping in an out hardly leaving any marks on areas he was not working on. Tony offered to bury one additional downspout hose we had not discussed, in order to complete the job in an outstanding fashion. Tony clearly takes pride in his work and wants it to look exceptional. We will use his crew in the future.
Anthony did a great job repairing a dresser our moving company broke. His quote was very reasonable and he was meticulous with the repair. He's very easy to work with and will deliver quality work.
Scott used his backhoe to clear some overgrown land down a slope for us. He was quick and thorough. We will give his name to anyone in our neighborhood who needs similar services.
Workers and owner were respectful and very task oriented...completing the job in a timely manner. We enjoyed working with them. They poured a double pad so we can turn around from our driveway and did 3 patches in the driveway. It looks great and they cleaned up every bit of debris. They were the most reasonable of the estimates we got.
“Mr. Tafur and his crews are helpful with their suggestions, polite, professional and nothing is too much for them to do in order to make a client happy. The 5 years Four Seasons has cared for our property has proven to be a time of complete satisfaction.”
It was a dream come true for me when I met Tyler Thompson of Thompson Home Improvements. I was not familiar with the whole insurance thing, worried that my problem was bigger than I had the money for, and skeptical of any work to be completed properly and timely. Tyler was so professional, confidant and had excellent communication skills. He ALWAYS returned phone calls and texts, he made me feel very at ease with the process, which included both interior and exterior problems; AND his workers were CLEAN - CLEAN and NEAT. Quite a lot of repairs were finished within the time frame Tyler had given. This young man should be extremely proud of himself and his company. I only wish I had more funding to make my home a showplace. Tyler worked with me every step of the way and I will be forever grateful. The new bedroom ceiling looks gorgeous! At every step Tyler exceeded my expectations.
They did several visit to price and plan the job. I contracted to replace my very large front drive way. They excavated the old drive, had it hauled away and formed it in one day , that was 6/16/17. It started to rain and rained heavily for a solid week. Marco ans Guillermo Olvera kept in contact and kept me up dated. Yesterday the area was dry enough to pour concrete and they were there on time and did a beautiful job! I would not hesitate to use them again. I would woke heartedly recommend them. Very professional and very good at what they do.
Site King has been taking care of excavation, grading and pre-construction site prep. for our company for over 5 years now. Zack Barker and his brother Shannon and the rest of his crew always have done an outstanding job for us and we continue using Site King services now and in the future. Zeke communicated throughout project, did a great job on excavation and pouring and was reasonably priced. I highly recommend Townsends for your project.
My name is Gary Rice and I hired Ken Gouchenour from Extreme Earthworks last summer to do some excavation work on land I purchased in Verona Ky. I did not know Ken but saw his ad online and noticed he was a Veteran. I found out that he had served 3 tours of duty in Iraq. A lot of times when you hire a contractor that you don't know it can end up being a bad experience, but not this time. I am 70 years old and have hired a myriad of contractors in my lifetime and I can honestly say Ken is by far the best. I had him excavate and gravel a drive way, build a 1000 foot gravel trail down a long wooded hill for my granddaughter and grandson to ride small ATV's and he even did some demolition work on an old house that was on the property. He always showed up early everyday to do the work, was very reasonable for the quality of work and even saved me money by showing me a better way to do the trail. When he was finished with all the work I had hired him for, I asked him to do a few more small jobs. He stayed and finished them and would not take any extra money. He is very friendly and I enjoyed talking to him about his time in Iraq. I am getting ready to have him do some more work for me and would recommend him highly to anyone that needs any type excavation work regardless of how small or large. You will be pleasantly surprised with his work ethics, quality of work and knowledge.
