I had a privacy fence that I wanted replaced with a chain link fence and I also needed an outside light put on a patio that was dark. I asked Robert to give me an estimate on the gate. The first time I met him I felt good about letting him do the job on the gate so much I asked him if he could put in a light. I had picked up most of the materials before he came over but to make sure he had all the materials he needed we met at the Home Depot near my house & got the rest. He followed me back to my house and went to work right away even though it was cold. Because I have two dogs he got the fence put up that day and even the light that I wanted. He was so particular that everything worked and even cleaned up after he was finished. I am very happy with the work he did and his cost that I will not have anyone else work for me.

So to give some context to those reading this review. I was in quite the predicament with my portico, as it was literally (in the true sense) falling apart. It had suffered from internal water damage that cascaded into complete failure. I had to find someone who was professional, knew their trade and was a straight shooter. Robert from Affordable Renovations was that man, and I am utmost pleased with his work. He was able to get me a quote that I could weather and was tentative to detail. He was a fantastic person to speak with and he treated me with the same reciprocal of respect I had given him. Now to break down into more of the logistics of the interaction. (wDay = Work Day) -(Quote)He assessed the damage and locked in a quote. -(wDay1 - Prework)The day that he arrived he did ask for the costs to cover the expenses of materials. As this is part of normal interactions I had no problem with the funds. (Note: His preferred method is Credit/Debit Card) -(wDay1) Initial thoughts of the extent of the damage exceeded expectations. Although it meant more work that Robert initially expected he maintained his integrity and did not raise the cost of the quote. During the rest of the day he went about clearing out the rot and salvaging what was possible. -(wDay2) The heatwave continued. Despite the temperature being higher in the area than usual, he maintained the course and was able to start building the structure. At the end of the day of Day2 he had just one last day of construction and painting. -(wDay 3) The final day. He shored up the rest of the construction and finished painting before the afternoon. I would like to make a note though that this all occurred over a 4 day (Friday - Monday) period during the weekend. Previous experience that I've had with contractors and weekend work has always been in a bad light, however, Robert kept his word and worked in the utmost professional manner. I would highly suggest Robert for your next renovation or construction needs (Especially Fences, this is his speciality). I would also suggest speaking with him, he has some great stories that he shared, but to learn them, hire him.

The job was a fireplace tile (surround area tiled). Mr. jones responded to messages and questions prior to the job and was very reasonable on his price. He did an excellent job. It took a longer than I thought but I didn't mind as he was very meticulous with his work and offered suggestions on how to make the work look its best. I would hire him again.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With larger projects I have a standard contract but I usually give a ball park estimate when I initially send my quote to a customer. I pick up what I need for the job prior to coming to the customer do the job and get paid. I accept all major credit cards as well a checks or cash. I encourage my customers to pay with debit credit cards because it saves me time and I can send them an electronic receipt to there email or phone. It also gives them the benefit of disputing charge if they were to find work unsatisfactory later on. I try to give my customers as much a feeling of ease as I can give them realizing there are a lot of so called pros in my line of work that just want to grab a quick buck and disappear.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to west central tech and graduated as low voltage tech. HVAC certification
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After I got out of marine corps I went to school at west central tech in Carrollton Ga and studied to be an electrician. After completing low voltage 240v training I chose not to go further do to the fact that I'm color blind and instructor informed me that I would kill myself or someone else if I continued. Lol. I started working in renovations with a friend who's company was growing. I worked with him for 8 yrs and decided to venture out on my own.
