About

I have taught kindergarten through fifth grades for over 20 years. Reading is the foundation for all subjects. I currently work with students using a reading program that includes sight words, comprehension, phonics, fluency and spelling. I place a strong emphasis on phonics, breaking words into syllables, and advanced sight words. My students make significant progress and usually reach advanced levels in reading quickly. I have taught four and five year olds to read well after letters and sounds are mastered. My goal is to help students to advance their reading skills and develop a love for reading. I enjoy seeing my students' improvement as well as enthusiasm and self confidence.

I saw my kids progress and improve on their reading and writing skills once we started working with the tutor. She individually teaches our twins and provides lessons appropriate for their levels. I'm glad we started working with Discovery Reading.

Angie has been tutoring my twins for a few month and my kids were are in 2nd grade and they were reading kindergarten level... now they read above there grade level ... she gave my twins and myself hope and now there grades are so much better ... What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to meet with clients in an agreed upon location to discuss pricing. I travel to several areas of Atlanta and need to assess the mileage. Packages are available that are individualized to your child's needs. The base hourly rate is $60 and I offer a discount for a second child.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I arrange tutoring sessions to be convenient for all involved.
