Do not book this art studio for any event. Today was my moms birthday and I connected with Beute a week ago to book her. Our initial Conversations were great and we both confirmed everything and I paid $100 deposit. During this conversation of course I informed her where my house was located for the sip And paint. I asked if I needed to provide anything at all and she assured me everything was taken care of. She also mentioned she would send me the sketch in 2 days so that I can approve/ disapprove. The day before event I still had not been contacted so I reached out. That evening she sent me the photo and it looked nothing like what we agreed upon her drawing (please see photos for details). She then revised the drawing and sent it to me the next day which was the date of my moms party. Still didn’t look like the photo, nevertheless it was better than the first. At 1:48 Beute text me if I could have a table cloth, cups, plates, and napkins to which she previously mentioned was all included in her $250 price. In addition, Our event was due to start at 5:30. Fast forward, at exactly 3:45 Beute texts me staying my house was 1 hour away and she would need to charge me an additional $100 for gas. I told her it was unacceptable as our event was starting in less than an hour. I pleaded with her and told her I could do $50. She then had a man call me who introduced himself as a partner (I had never spoken to him during our agreement) he proceeded to tell me how usually they charge $600 and that they were doing me a favor. The whole conversation was unprofessional and a disgrace. At the end of the Convo he assured me she was on her way and would still arrive by 5:30. Beute then stated she would be there by 6. At 6:15 she has still not arrived. At this point I told her the whole transaction was unprofessional and I would not be moving forward. She told me she was 10 minutes away. I reminded her that she tried to change the whole agreement 45 minutes before our class. I WOULD NOT BOOK THESE PEOPLE WITH A 10 FOOT POLE. In addition, paint and sip classes do not cost $600 for 4 people! Do not waste your time. You will thank me later! I take full responsibility for this mishap. Upon taking this private party I made it clear that I would complete 5 sketch pieces on 5 canvas for all to paint including the host who would be the 5th party. When booking the class the deposit was $100. This includes supplies such as canvas paint as well as complimentary wine and other materials. This did not include the labor taken to create the first sketch mock up as well as the other 5 which needed to be on the canvases for the guest to paint. Unfortunately I over estimated myself and did not budget in the cups and plates for mixing which is why I requested them and the table cloth. I ended up purchasing last min out of my own pocket which pushed me back in time. My investor/business partner reached out to clarify what was going on as I was overwhelmed. I am new to Atlanta and was further than expected. My Uber ride was $60. This class altogether was $250 which is very low for the labor, material and work put in. I tried to accommodate and was 10min away when told not to come. I offered to send the completed piece or better but was shunned. I apologize on my behalf since you as the customer did nothing wrong. Moving forward I will be very clear with expectation, pricing and proposal before taking bookings and deposits. Thank you for your review. Agreement: Once me and the customer have agreed on the terms of the project, I will sign a written agreement that outlines the details of the project and the payment terms. 5. Planning and preparation: Before beginning work on the project, I will need to plan and prepare. This may include sourcing materials, creating sketches or designs, and making any necessary arrangements for transportation or logistics. 6. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied art since the age of 6. My art has been featured in the Asia society museum at the age of 10. I have gone to both JH and HS for art studying realism and fashion. I then went on to study business at College of staten island where I took advanced art classes there. I am currently enrolled into SCAD for art history.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started as a kid loving faces. Then wanting to draw everything I saw. Spiritually I think if god could create all of this beauty I can only hope to be close to that artistic ability. My drive to create what I see motivates me to teach and share. I started by creating for my family then friends then my neighborhood.
